FOOTBALL - ROSS UNITED U13s 3, ROSS DYNAMOS 4

Ross United Under 13ís were away to their local rivals Ross Dynamos on Sunday morning in their first match for over 2 months! Whilst the game kicked off in bright sunshine, the pitch was unsurprisingly very heavy, however both sides coped very well with the conditions.

It was Ross Dynamos who were closest to opening the scoring, but Josh was on hand to head the ball off the line. This proved the springboard for United, and Josh put them into a 1-0 lead. Callum and Robbie worked well up front with the midfield of Harry, Ollie, Daniel L and Josh, proving an obstacle for the home team. It was Dynamos, however that scored two quick goals to take a 2-1 lead. United defended well with Ralph, Joe, Jacob and Dan all making important challenges to keep Dynamos out. In the 27th minute, an excellent through ball from Ollie found Callum who ran on to make the score 2-2. A few minutes later, Dynamos restored the lead to make it 3-2 at half-time.

The second half continued to be a competitive game, with Colin and Liam introduced from the bench. United continued to use the long ball with good effect, with both Ollie and then Dan putting Callum and Josh into space, but Dynamos defended well. Dynamos continued to attack and Kieran had to be at his best in goal for United. Unitedís equaliser came in the 29th minute, when a knock down from Callum allowed Ralph a chance to shoot that went high into the top of the net.

Dynamos were not beaten and a minute later they regained their advantage with an equally good strike to make the final score Ross Dynamos 4 Ross United 3. The whole team was praised by the Manager and Coaches for their efforts, especially bearing in mind the conditions of the pitch. The Man of the Match was awarded to Kieran.

The Ross United Team were Kieran, Ralph, Dan, Jacob, Joe, Ollie, Harry, Dan L, Josh, Callum, Robbie, Colin and Liam.
