I
have updated two of the tourism films on Wyenot this week,
making them more concise, with narration. I
realize that I chopped and changed the Symonds Yat film
only recently but I was not at all happy with the result
of that change. Both of the videos on this page are the
most frequently viewed, with over 15,000 views between them
last year and so I wanted to make sure that new versions
were available, ready for the 2010 tourism season and that
they were right.
I
have chopped the front end and some of the longer time lapse
sequences in the Ross promo (immediately below) and have
added narration. I am hoping that this will act as a good
tourist magnet.
The
Symonds Yat and Yat Rock film (bottom) has new narrative
and the middle Symonds Yat East time lapse sequence has
been severely chopped to make the film shorter, hopefully
holding people's attention more easily.
I
still absolutely hate my voice-overs but nobody (not even
Tina) would volunteer to do it for me, so I had to sit in
front of the microphone again. If there IS anybody
out there with a nicer voice and better accent than my modified
dull, Cockney sparra one - male or female, it makes no difference
- someone who would be willing to spare an hour to help
me out, I would still really like to change the voice-overs
but it needs to be done soon as I have a DVD in production,
which I want to get to the reproduction stage by the end
of February, latest.
Whether
that happens, or does not, I hope these new versions are
enjoyable, and more to the point, that they work. They are
already live on the Ross-on-Wye and Symonds Yat pages.
I
have set them to play at Standard definition here for those
with slower connections but if you want to watch in up to
720p HD, hold your mouse over the '360p' button on the progress
bar and change the definition accordingly.
