Although
we ran our article about the 'Return of the Ross Pancake
Races' last Wednesday, the event was extremely popular with
everybody and probably the most photographed of any Ross
event in recent years. Thank you to those people sent in
their own photos of the event. There were far too many to
publish all but I have made up a collage below of those
sent in by Andrew Meek and Rachel Bushell.
The
film we made was very popular and as a result, the You Tube
programming bug kicked in, jamming the view counter at 323
views within 2 hours of its upload. One day, they will get
that sorted out. You Tube cannot cope with high demand within
the first day of a video being uploaded and the view counter
jams at, or around 300 views, remaining like it for up to
a week.
If
you didn't get to see the film, it is still available in
last week's article and on the more
permanent Pancake Races page on Wyenot which I made
over the weekend. We thought the event so good, and likely
to be such big a boost to tourism throughout the year and
in years to come that it was worthy of more than just a
one-off news page. Well done to A.R.T. (The Association
of Ross Traders) and to Ross-in-Bloom for reintroducing
the races!
