FOOTBALL - ROSS UNITED U13s REACH FINAL OF BREDERODES CUP

Ross United U 13ís played in the Brederodes Cup Final on Thursday evening against Westfields. Westfields, who had already won the league title, started very strongly and forced some early corners that were well defended by Ross United.

Kieran had to be at his best early on when a deflected cross had to be turned over the bar at full stretch to avoid an early lead from the opposition. Ross started to apply some pressure themselves with some good work from the midfield of Jake, Daniel L, Harry and Callum supporting Ryan up front and the roving role of Josh. In the 21st minute however, an excellent strike from 25 yards found the top corner that gave Westfields a deserved lead. Ross continued to defend well with Joe, Ollie, Dan and Ralph all needing to be in good form to counter the pressure from the opposition, but just before half-time Westfields scored their second goal to make it 2-0.

In the second half, Jacob, Liam and Colin were all introduced from the bench and all contributed to a good team effort by Ross United. Ross continued to play their part in a competitive game of football but two goals late on made the final score Westfields 4, Ross United 0. The Manager and Coaches praised all of the team for their attitude in a hardworking display against a well organised Westfields team that had been too strong for Ross United on the day.

The Ross United Team were Kieran, Ralph, Dan, Joe, Ollie, Josh, Jake, Ryan, Dan L, Liam, Callum, Harry, Jacob and Colin.

Two days after teh match, the above team (with the addition of Robbie and Max) were presented at Edgar Street with the Herefordshire Under-13ís League B Runners-Up Medals, which was a fitting end to a very good season for the club.
