If
you were wondering what all the cyclists were doing in town
on Friday, It was the Deloitte Ride Across Britain. This
cycle ride took place over a period of nine days, beginning
in Scotland, and finishing with a party in Cornwall and
the route was ridden by hundreds of cyclists in nine stages.
It was Stage Seven - Ludlow to Cheddar which took place
on Friday, the undulating ride, which encountered three
British rivers, including the River Wye, bringing the riders
through the town of Ross throughout the morning.
The
cyclists first began arriving in Ross at about 10.30, meeting
with heavy traffic caused by the Rosswyn Bottleneck. Small
groups of riders rode along Cantilupe Road, Gloucester Road,
and High Street, heading towards Walford throughout the
morning - many of them stopping for refreshments at Costa
Coffee. Below
you can see photographs of some of the larger groups passing
through town.
