Unseasonable
amounts of heavy rain and high winds in Ross-on-Wye and
the surrounding area have been causing some disruption,
bringing trees down locally.
The
photo (left) from the Symonds
Yat Web Cam cam located at Rose Cottage, shows a tree
which was brought down overnight and also shows that river
levels are beginning to rise again after the recent low
water levels in the Wye.
Winds,
with gusts here in Ross-on-Wye of up to 47.9 miles per hour
have been recorded by the Wyenot weather station in Ross,
which although low compared with what we usually see in
March, with trees in full July leaf is enough to do some
damage.
The
power was flicking off and on during Thursday evening in
Ross and went off completely in Wilton at approximately
10.00 pm.
(Current
air pressure at 12.00 pm Friday: 996.1 Hpa and climbing.)
