Customers
of The Hope
& Anchor and The Man of Ross joined forces at the
weekend to raise lots of money for St. Michael's Hospice
by holding a fun day. There was lots for the family to do
including face painting, bouncy castles, skittles, battleships
and 'Gladiators' which was enjoyed by children and adults
alike, and lots of delicious cakes etc. for sale, a raffle
and a 'lucky straw' game. Two auctions were also held, offering
some absolutely fantastic lots to bid on including meals
for two, meals for four, massages, an MOT test, cuts and
blow drys, manicures, pedicures, a larder fridge, a microwave,
car seat covers; there were 47 lots in all.
Live
music was provided by New Jersey during the afternoon and
in the evening, popular local band Double Barrel kept the
audience entertained. Landlady, Debbie was delighted with
how the event went, telling us that £2585.16 was raised
on the day, £1675.00 of which was raised by the auctions.
Debs would like to thank all of the local businesses who
donated items for the auction and everybody who supported
the event, making it the great success that it was.
Well
done to all of you.
