food safety officers have issued a recall of Sokolow's home
black pudding sausage after the Food Standards agency reported
high levels of listeria in certain batches. The sausage
is a Polish product which is sold under the names Home Black
Pudding Sausage and Grill Black Pudding Sausage.
some distributors have recalled all batches of the sausage,
sample results have so far only shown contamination of listeria
monocytogenes in certain batches.
of Herefordshire who have bought the sausage are being asked
to check the batch details.

affected product may pose a serious risk to human health,'
said environmental health officer Sarah Osborne. 'We are
therefore contacting distributors and retailers of food
originating in Poland across Herefordshire to determine
if they have sold or supplied Sokolow Home Black Pudding
Sausage/Grill Black Pudding Sausage. If they have stocks
of the relevant batches, they must be withdrawn from sale,.'
who has bought the sausage with these sell by dates and
batch numbers should return them to the shop they bought
