NEW YEAR'S EVE AT THE WHITE LION....................

Cruella Deville, Indiana Jones, The Grim Reaper, Audrey Hepburn, Al Capone, Pocahontas, The Lone Ranger, Zorro, Cat Woman, the Runaway Bride; these are just a few of the many stars of the silver screen who attended the brilliant New Year's Eve party at the White Lion Inn on Friday evening. Even one of the 101 Dalmatians managed to swing a ticket to this exclusive, star studded event to welcome in the New Year.

The party was arranged by Landlords Dave and Jacqui Newman who host a great party each year to say 'Thank you' to their regulars for their loyal custom and to raise money for Ross Macmillan Cancer Support through the sale of tickets. Delicious food was laid on for the illustrious guests, who were entertained with some great live music performed by popular local trio, the Double Barrel Band and a really fantastic time was had by all.

The fun does not stop at New Year's Eve, however. Each Sunday from 8pm all are invited to go along to the lovely riverside inn to pit their wits against each other in the popular, weekly White Lion quiz. Entrance costs £2 per person (teams must have a maximum of 6 members). The winning team shares the pot between either themselves or their favourite charity and Ross Macmillan Cancer Support. On the last Sunday of each month, the pot goes entirely to this very important local charity. Why not go along and enjoy the fun?
