Ross were not able to end the season with a win against
Widden old boys, but a run of home wins since the turn of
the year enabled them to pull clear of the relegation zone
and secure their place in the Gloucester Premier League
for next season.
On
a sunny afternoon, Widden proved too strong for Ross, running
out comfortable winners. With only a Tara Barnett try converted
by Casey Morgan to show for their efforts, Ross blooded
a few youngsters from the 2nd team and this will no doubt
bode well for their development next season. All that remains
of a long season is the North Midlands cup with Ross playing
at home to Shrewsbury in the Quarter final on Saturday,
23rd April. Kick off at Wilton Sports Ground is at 3pm.
A
date for your diary... The annual end of season awards dinner
and dance is to be held from 7.30pm on Saturday, 21st May
at The Mighty 8 Pool Club. Tickets are available at £8 each
which includes a buffet supper and disco. Please secure
your tickets from either The Drop inn or The Mighty 8.
Players
and officials from the club would like to thank supporters
and sponsors for their continued support through the season, and
look forward to your support next Saturday against Shrewsbury
as we look to progress to the semi final on the 30th April.
