Please
forgive the pun but The Eagle Inn has recently become a
favourite haunt of mine, (sorry!) and both this lovely main
street pub and Charlie's Bar were brilliantly decked out
to celebrate Hallowe'en. Most of the staff were given the
task of carving pumpkins into the most horrible looking
'things to ward off evil' and on Saturday, so many people
dressed up to get into the spirit of the occasion (Sorry,
again!).
Andy
and Maria Gooding really went to town to create a great
party atmosphere, arranging apple bobbing for the kids and
other games, offering some blood curdling cocktails for
sale and holding a fancy dress competition in each of the
bars, which I was asked to judge. The choices were very
difficult to make as there were so many people in such fantastic
costumes but in the end, four winners were finally chosen.
At
The Eagle Inn, Claire White and Megan Hughes took the prizes,
then later at Charlie's Bar, Jen 'Si's Bride' Stephens and
Paul 'Werewolf' James were the winners and a brilliant time
was had by all.
