Gresleys always looks spectacular during the run up to Christmas.
No expense appears to be spared to make The Gresleys the
brightest, prettiest neighbourhood in Ross-on-Wye and a
big switch on ceremony is held each year, which raises a
lot of money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Almost every
house in The Gresleys is lit up; many have moving, singing
and dancing snowmen, Santas etc. in their gardens and, on
the occasion of the switch on many homes had stalls set
up outside tempting people to play competitions or try out
the Tombola etc.
group of young musicians sang and played some lovely Christmas
music this year two and many people were pleased to put
some money into their donation bucket. I have always been
keen to attend The Gresleys lights switch on but had until
now been unable due to work commitments. My attendance on
4th December was also to take a sneaky photograph of my
friend's daughter, sister and brother for a present for
her mum. Apparently, she was very pleased with her gift.
