I
have always found New Year's Eve in Ross-on-Wye to be a
thoroughly enjoyable evening out, however, I embarked on
last Saturday's event with some reluctance as this time,
I was going alone. Still, it had to be done so, after a
quick drink at the Eagle Inn where I left some excess baggage,
I called a taxi and headed for the White
Lion Inn at Wilton.
It
was so good to see everybody at the Lion again. Having no
transport and with the weather being as it has been of late,
I have not much opportunity to visit the lovely riverside
inn recently. It was lovely to catch up with Jacqui and
Dave again as well as friends and other regulars. I also
met little Harry Parkes for the first time. Harry is the
new born son of Rhianne, Jacqui's daughter and Graeme Parkes
and he is simply gorgeous. I did attempt to take a couple
of photographs but they did not turn out as I would have
liked as, in the first shot, Harry was a little hidden by
his blanket and in the second, he put his arm across his
face so I shall have to find another opportunity soon.
Everybody
was having a lovely time, enjoying a dance and the delicious
food laid on. It was great to see everybody again and I
shall return there very soon.
