Belated but very special birthday greetings go to Paige and Rachel Darker and Claire White, who all held their celebrations at the Eagle Inn in Broad Street last weekend. Paige is now 18 and her father Sean and step mum Rachel booked the function room on the upper floor of the Eagle where they celebrated with family and friends. Unbeknown to me at the time, it was also Rachel's birthday at the weekend and both she and Paige were presented with flowers, beautifully arranged by Landlady, Maria, who also beautifully decorated the room for the event.

Claire White's birthday party was also a family Christmas get together as Claire's daughter, Jess works in Jersey and was unable to get home for Christmas. This special family gathering was held in one end of the bar, with three beautifully laid out tables, Christmas crackers, the works and all had a wonderful time.

During the previous weekend, a Christening party was held in the Stable Suite to the rear of the Eagle. This lovely, fully self contained function room was also amazingly decorated and catered for over 100 guests who turned up to witness Matthew and Gemma's baby, Daisy's baptism, before enjoying a fantastic party.

The upstairs function room at the Eagle is ideal for meetings or parties of up to around forty persons and will make a lovely, intimate restaurant for you to enjoy a romantic Valentine's dinner. (It may be worth noting gents that on Valentine's Day you can enjoy a two course meal for two, two mains, two desserts, complete with a bottle of wine between you for just £19.95 per head!)

For larger parties, the Stable Suite comes into it's own.
