The place for information on Ross-on-Wye and the Wye Valley

My great great grandfather, Frederick Robert Nugent 1834 to 1884 was the son of Robert Nugent, 'Druggist' of Northampton Street, St. Pancras.

Frederick Robert Nugent was a Law Clerk by profession. I know from the birth certificate of his daughter Florence that in 1862 he lived with his wife, Emma at 12 Lambs Conduit Street, London. I do not have any photographs of the man himself, however below you can see photographs of Emma Nugent nee Martin whom he married on 24th July 1854 in St. Pancras Church.

Frederick Robert Nugent wrote poetry, quite a bit of which was published during his life time in Reynolds Newspaper and other publications. I have some of this work in my posession, passed to me following the death of my grandmother, Nellie Ethel Casciani. I had initially thought of publishing scanned images of this work on this web site however, genealogy not being the main subject of wyenot.com, I have decided this would use up far too much bandwidth. If you are dead keen to see these works I can either supply them on CD for the cost of material plus postage or, if you do not mind receiving several large files, I will email them to you.

Also included on this page are photographs of Frederick Robert Nugent's daughter, Florence and her husband James Meredith Casciani, my great grandparents.

Mary Nugent and Frederick Robert Nugent Junior also appear. They were two of the siblings of Florence.
