Ross-on-Wye Carnival Week - August 2005

Welcome to the Ross-on-Wye Carnival for 2005 preview. This year's Carnival Day will fall on Saturday, 6th August with various events around the town taking place throughout the preceding week. The route of the procession can be found at the bottom of this page and the Carnival Committee are looking forward to seeing you there. At the bottom of this page, there are contact details if you would like to offer assistance or hold a stall on the Carnival Riverside Field.

Carnival Day promises to be a fun packed event with entertainment by belly dancers and the Foxwhelp Morris, plus the ever popular bouncy castles and Cresta Run. There will be refreshment tents and many local and national charities, fund-raising with their wide selection of stalls. Local traders will also be displaying their wares.

The 2005 Ross Carnival has now taken place. The event is covered in Wyenot News for the week of 9th August 2005.

There will be many other displays and entertainment, including Quad Bikes and the popular annual Lions' Duck Race to round off the afternoon. This year the plastic ducks will be launched from the Hope & Anchor and the first, second and third under Wilton Bridge will be declared the winners. First prize is £150, second is £100 and third, £50, so it will be well worth purchasing a duck. Ducks cost £1 each and will be available throughout Carnival Week from various locations in the town and from the Carnival Field on the day.
