Ross Lions Fun Day 2003 took place at the Riverside Gardens on Sunday 27 July. Although the weather was not brilliant, it did remain dry for the various events. The usual duck race had to be abandoned this year, being replaced by a draw instead, as the Sea Cadets' boat unfortunately broke down at the last minute and they were unable to launch the ducks into the river.

The show included various children's events and races. I particularly enjoyed the sheep dog demonstration, during which the dogs guided sheep and ducks both inside and outside (deliberately, I might add) the fenced off area. To a sheep farmer, I guess this is a pretty every day thing but I was amazed at how well trained the dogs are!
