The interior of The Lodge mixes contemporary style sympathetically with the original features of this magnificent ex-hunting lodge set in the heart of the Wye Valley whilst maintaining its originality, unique features and style in keeping with the local area. The Royal Lodge has 20 non-smoking rooms, all of which now have oak king-size sleigh beds, flat screen televisions complete with inbuilt DVD players, fluffy white towels, ample tea and coffee making facilities with locally sourced biscuits and bottled mineral water. Each room (Superior, Classic and Standard) has its own unique colour scheme and each boasts a view of either the riverside or our landscaped gardens. Certain rooms can be used as Twins or Family Rooms which allows unrivalled flexibility. The Lodge can accommodate a maximum of 45 guests at any one time and is available to hire as a private venue if required.

The Royal Lodge with its River View Restaurant, picturesque gardens and spacious public areas offers breakfast, lunch and dinner (a la carte and table d’hote menus available using freshly prepared local produce) to residents and non-residents alike as well as offering a separate children’s menu and a selection of light meals alongside an extensive wine list so that you can relax and watch the River Wye slowly meander down to the Wye Rapids. as you dine. The restaurant also caters for functions, small and large celebrations, corporate functions and weddings.

The Lodge has a comfortable family lounge where you can enjoy the log-burner in winter and where you can read or play board-games or settle in for the evening around the Main Bar area where on offer is a large selection of beers, lagers, whiskies, spirits and wine. All the rooms are accessed via a staircase which may present a difficulty for those with severe mobility problems, however, the public areas are all fully accessible with the exception of the raised lawn.

Symonds Yat makes a perfect location for weddings, with outstanding scenery and breathtaking views. The Lodge has indoor function rooms combined with a fantastic raised lawn which is perfect for marquees. You and your guests can enjoy wonderful hospitality and good food and make your special day one that everyone will remember. Approximately 5 miles from Monmouth and 10 miles from the market town of Ross-On-Wye, The Royal Lodge is close to Goodrich Castle and also within easy reach are the Cathedral cities of Worcester, Hereford and Gloucester not to mention the fantastic opportunity to shop until you drop in Cheltenham.
