Whilst working on the site during July 2004, I managed a complete circuit of Ross-on-Wye town, running backwards whilst photographing a steam engine, took seventeen phone calls from people wanting to book tickets for the International Festival, two from people ordering meals at the Hope & Anchor, received requests for photographs from the Hereford Times, Hereford Recorder, Chat Magazine and of course, not forgetting the Ross Gazette. The strangest requests received were one from a London funeral director who wanted a photograph of Tudorville cemetery and another from an Iranian, who asked me to go into Boots the Chemist in Ross with him to purchase a blood pressure meter as he could not speak very good English. I have to confess that my Farsi is not too hot either but I managed to accomplish the task using sign language. Can you imagine the sign language between two males to describe a blood pressure meter? I hope not too many people were watching at the time!
