The two millionth hit on Wyenot.com for the year 2004 occurred during the first week of November, so the site looks destined for around 2.3 million hits mark over the whole of the year. The 'Wyenot Local News' index page was the second most visited page, after the main Wyenot.com 'Home Page' during the month. The 'Accommodation' page has dropped to fourth position. This drop is expected during the winter months as reasons for visitors viewing the site vary throughout the year - less people are looking to go on holiday or take weekend breaks during the winter.

I began work on this web site back in May 2000 after several previous web experiments, with a vague notion that it might become popular, helping both myself and the town of Ross-on-Wye. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine quite how popular it would become! As this web site grows, community spirit in Ross-on-Wye on the other hand seems to be on the general decline and I have felt more than once recently that this whole project is in vain. The Potters Bar Reunion however was a small glimmer of light at the end of a long tunnel of darkness - it gave me hope again for the future. Come on Ross-on-Wye - get your arses in gear or the town will certainly die! It's not always somebody else's job to try and breath life back into the dying embers of this once thriving market town - it's yours too. I have lost count of the times I have been told that, 'this is the best town web site I have ever seen.' Give me some support, enabling me to keep this web site going! Keep the town worth visiting and together we will crack it!
