St. George's Day Celebrations 2003
St. George's Day - 23 April 2003 was celebrated in style in Wye Street, Ross-on-Wye at the Riverside Inn. The knight in shining armour looked magnificent and the crowd was entertained by the Foxwhelp Morris Side from Ewyas Harold with their traditional dances and very funny mummers play. A sing-around followed and a good time was had by all. It is nice to see old English traditions maintained in this way and see that good old St. George has not taken a back seat to St. David and St. Patrick after all, as much as these saint's days also deserve recognition and celebration! |
