Based in beautiful Symonds Yat East is Wyedean Canoe and Adventure
Centre, the perfect place to take an activity packed holiday or
hold a team building exercise. Proprietors Paul and Jane Howells
have owned and managed the centre since 1973, offering a whole
range of outdoor pursuits, ranging from a half day's canoe hire
to a full week of virtually non-stop action. Wyedean Canoe and
Adventure Centre is open to groups, families and individuals,
from novice to expert ability.
Anything
from canoeing and white water kayaking to raft building and river
trips on the beautiful River Wye are available. You may also like
to try another of the wide range of challenging activities on
offer such as rock climbing, abseiling, archery, caving and ropes
courses. There is an indoor climbing wall at the centre which
is equipped with an abseil tower and caving ladders, should the
weather be too wet for outdoor pursuits. All of the activities
take place under the instruction of Wyedean's qualified staff,
so you are always in safe hands.

The
accommodation options at Wyedean fall into three categories. Self
catering accommodation is available at Holly Barns, which is set
in twenty acres of peaceful farmland, just two miles from the
Centre. This bunk bedded accommodation can cater for two groups
at a time, up to a maximum of fifty persons and comprises two
fully equipped kitchens, two dining rooms and two specially prepared
day rooms. Overhead and slide projectors are available upon request.
Bedding is not included in the tariff so you will either need
to bring your own with you, or alternatively you may hire it from
the centre. Camping
is also available and you need not worry if you don't have your
own tent. A full camping pack is available for hire.
Families
who prefer more homely accommodation may like to book into Penny
Royal Cottage, a three bedroomed self catering cottage which
can accommodate between six to eight persons. Bedding is supplied
and both travel cots and high chairs are available. The private
gardens have patio furniture and a barbecue for guests to use
and there are many restaurants and bars just a short walk away.

If
you are looking for a day out with a difference, Paul and his
son Graham offer fantastic 'Race Track Days', which operate using
the success and experience that has been gained over the last
seven years during which Paul and Graham have been racing.
Clients
spend the day at their chosen venue in a race prepared Porsche
911 or other super car of their choice and are given VIP treatment
and lunch. They are then taken around the track by a top racing
driver and given expert tuition laps, whilst experiencing the
exhilaration of driving true race prepared cars.
A
choice of excellent venues are available, including Silverstone,
Brands Hatch and Donnington Park. Alternative circuits are available
in the UK and Europe by special arrangement.
Wyedean
Canoe and Adventure Centre in association with the Royal
Hotel offer the perfect location for your team building and
development conferences. Unique
Conferences offer superb facilities at the hotel for your
meeting, combined with challenging activities involving team work
that are bound to make a real impact back in the work place.
